Question
I had a sex with a girl to whom I don’t know,I give my full description ,advice me are there any chances of HIV?
After sex I found very few amount of blood on my condom,I was worried,I rubbed the condom with my towel,to check is there any leakage?then after sometime I washed my hands with the same towel.but there was very small cut of near 1cm size on my finger, which happened a day or 2 before.
Please suggest me is there any chance of HIV?

Answer
Dear Monty:

Peace.  Aside from abstaining from fluid exchange and a mutually monogamous relationship with someone who is uninfected, you did about everything you can to prevent HIV transmission.  Blood cells or vaginal secretions containing HIV cannot pass through intact latex.  The cut you describe on your hand - after two days would not be an open wound, and the chances of you finding that cut with a cell containing HIV on the towel in the process of washing - almost none.

Sex with people you don't know is always risky, and though I don't see any significant risk for HIV, be aware that other sexually transmitted diseases and infections are more easily passed than HIV.

Summary - I don't see significant risk of HIV infection in what you describe. Go to www.thebody.com and/or www.avert.org and read about HIV risk and prevention so you're better prepared in the future.

Best to you and yours,

Terry
