Question
Hi there

I recently had a sexual encounter with a female who confessed to having many sex partners. she gave me oral sex and I fingered her. after 15 seconds of fingering her I pulled out my finger to notice my finger was covered in blood. I quickly wiped the blood off with a towel then went to the bathroom to wash my hands thoroughly.

My finger had no cuts on it. do I stand a risk of getting infected ? through both the oral and the fingering ?

Answer
Dear Jac:

Peace.  Your risk is small but exists.  Exposure to blood and vaginal secretions puts you at some risk even if you think you know someone else's sexual history.  Intact skin reduces those chances - and oral sex is some slight risk as well.  More information at www.thebody.com or www.avert.org.

Best to you and yours, get tested six weeks from the incident to be sure of your status.
