AIDS/Testing after six months

Question
I have read many different answers to this question, but can you clarify?  I would like to know what the chances are of being positive after a six month testing.

Approximately 5 years ago, I was tested for HIV and tested negative.  At the time of my testing I was single and had not an encounter in over 7 1/2 months.  The next man that I dated became my husband.  I have been married for 4 years to a wonderful man and have a beautiful son.  I am currently pregnant with our second child and for some reason or another, I am freaking out about it.  My head keeps going on and on about the possibility of being positive.

I should also state that my husband gives blood quite often to the American Red Cross and to my knowledge they test every single one of their donors for the virus.  I am assuming if he had the virus, the would inform him, correct?  This being the case, I should assume we are all safe but just would like to some reassurance.

Thanks

Answer
No, they would not necessarily contact him if his blood was positive. You have to specifically get tested for HIV in order to know your status. The Red Cross does not test people- it's a thin distinction.

If you were tested 7 months after a possible exposure, you can trust your result.
