AIDS/Still Worried :(

Question
Hi,

Thanks for you help.

i have done 10 Elisa tests and about 3 PCRs after the incident (protected sex with sex worker that ends up with the girl's blood on the condom and my T-shirt's bottom).

the last test was 23 months after the incident and it was negative (thanks to Allah).

what makes me still worried is that durring the last two years (after the incident) I have done 3 surguries (one to remove a testical tumor (tistical cancer)).

and that was a year ago.

and it was followed with a radiotherapy for a month (5 days a week).

the other two surguries was to cleaning one of my Sinusitis and the other one was after the last Elisa and it was for the Hemorrhoids.

my questions are:

1-I know 3 months is the standard time span, but will the conditions that I described above change anything?

2-i have done CBC test to have a look at my immune status and it was 6.5 (normal-healthy) around the time i have done the last HIV test (23 months).

can i consider my immune system un-effected by those conditions? and can I consider the result accurate?

I really want to move on and forget this story,

I am awaiting your response.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Dear AJ:

Salaam Alaykum.  You can't move on til you are at peace, and it seems that multiple tests aren't helping.  By all indicators you are not infected with HIV - but being caught up in the worries suggests you might benefit from talking to a counselor specifically about worrying.

Alaykum A'Salaam.  Pardon my spelling.
