Question
I am 24 years old boy. At 12th January 2009, I had sleep with a girl, but not doing any sex, just received oral sex(Her oral and my penis)lasts about 2 minutes and then i ejaculate in her mouth. At the next day, she told me,she had about 1-2cm linear ulcer i think,(this ulcer can occur in a person who's lip was so dry and cause in cold season),not seen to be bleed, not herpes ( lasts only 2 days) and ulcer was disappear. So, i was so afraid for me to get HIV. So, She and me was going to Lab at 16th January 2009,6th February 2009 to get HIV test, Both was negative. But i have still doubt that , is she in window periods? So, i asked her history. She tell me, about her last sexual exposure was at October 2008.At the end of 2008 October, she had already test 1 time, results was also negative.
But at 4th February,I was suffer minor cough, minor headache, minor sorethroat, and like lymph node discomfort or tenderness(under mandible). So, I was so worry about that.
Now,Can i need to check again? if need, when will be? How about my risks ? Now Am i 100% safe? When is the time, should i tested again?
With much respects,"

Answer
Dear Barrow:

Peace and all good things to you.  Risk of transmission of HIV from receiving oral sex is low; diagnosing HIV from symptoms you describe is impossible.  The sexual history of your partner is dependent on their truthfulness and memory.  Six weeks after a potential exposure should give you somewhat reliable HIV test results, though for certainty you should be tested according to the directions from the testing counselor.  Your symptoms suggest you would be wise to see a doctor if possible, not because I think you are HIV infected but because you are apparently sick.  If you are tested for HIV at that time, it will add to the information you have about your status, and probably give you greater peace of mind.

Best to you and yours,
