Question what could have happened for a man to discharge blood instead of sperm. Is this a disease or a sign of contacting HIV? I will appreciate if this question could be answered.
Answer Hi Alex,
It is not a sign of HIV but more align with a problem with your prostate gland. The color of the blood is important. If it is reddish, then it is flesh. If it is brownish-chocolate color, then it is due to a previous bleed. The most common problem can be a simple tear in the prostate gland's small vein and typically is a one-time event that does not need medical evaluation. Other uneventful causes may be frequent ejaculation, excessive alcohol use prior to sex, or minor trauma. If you are experiencing more than one episode, there is a possibility of an inflammation of the prostate which needs to be evaluated by your physician or urologist.
