AIDS/HIV / AIDS infection via oral sex activity

Question
Hi,

I am a married man, my wife does not like to have oral sex. But I have been really crazy about it.

I had taken a massage service by a lady, out of excitement I paid extra money and asked lady to massage private part. I also touched my tongue to the lady genital area as well.

After 3-4 days, I became sick with sudden flu, rash, tonsils.
I am getting cured for flu, rash and tonsils.

Is it possible that I got HIV / AIDS?

Please note that I did not have physical sex with the lady.
Out of my frustration I have done a big mistake...

Thanks

Answer
Dear Yasar,

HIV can transmit trough vaginal fluids and through oral sex, if either or both the persons involved are HIV infected. If you had oral sores or cuts or open sore on you penis, and the lady was HIV infected, there is a possibility of HIV transmission.

However, symptoms of HIV does not appear so quickly. There is a incubation period.

The HIV incubation period may refer to the time between exposures to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the first appearance of symptoms, or the period of time between exposure to HIV and progression to full-blown Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The incubation period can vary from person to person, depending on how fast the body builds up antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

According to the CDC, the antibodies will appear on a blood test within three months for 97 percent of infected people. In rare cases, the incubation period for HIV may be as long as six months. Therefore, if you consider the above issues were present, you better get tested 6 weeks after exposure and 3 months later again.

Sorry for my delayed response.

Gorkey
