Question
Thanks a lot for answering so promptly. Can you also please let me know if I should worry about/get tested for any other sexually transmitted disease. It has been over a week since this incident and I have not noticed anything untoward about my health. Will there be symptoms if I contact any STD including AIDS? What and when should I lookout for/get tested for ? How long do the symptoms take to develop and when can I rest assured that nothing has happened to me? Thanks a LOT again.I hope you understand my anxiety.

Hi, thanks for reading my question. I have not been able to sleep for a few days. A few days ago I dated a girl and we had deep french kissing for about half an hour after that.My lips also became became bruised due to this.My gums are otherwise healthy. While kissing, she put her finger in her vagina once or twice and sucked it. After this also we french kissed. There was no visible blood in anyone's mouth or lips. She says she had no sores or lesions anywhere on her body. Please let me know of my chances of getting HIV in case she is infected. Should I get my self tested? I am really worried.

Kissing does not transmit HIV so you need not worry about that. I also do not think that even though vaginal fluid can transmit HIV, that this poses a risk because of the route. I am guessing that there wasnt a lot on her finger and then it went into her mouth, and whatever wasnt swallowed or absorbed could have went into your mouth...it's not likely that it was much if any at all. So, I would not worry about this incident. However, do realize that vaginal fluid can transmit the virus for future reference.

Answer
I personally dont think that you should worry about being tested for other STIs. Some people will develop symptoms to STIs and some people don't. If you are sexually active, it is always a good idea to be tested for STIs on a regular basis. In this case, you would be worried about contracting something in your mouth-if you get a sore throat in the next couple weeks, then get tested. However, I think the chance of contracting anything from this is very low.
