Question
Does being gay put a person at greater risk of contacting hiv and why?

Answer
No, being gay does not put one at a greater risk of contracting HIV. Risky behavior is what puts one at a greater risk. Unprotected anal sex carries a greater risk than unprotected vaginal sex, which carries a greater risk than unprotected oral sex. Both straight, gay and bisexual individuals engage in anal sex, so there is nothing inherent about sexual orientation that puts one at a greater risk.
