Question
Hi! Recently my mouth has been really dry and I feel thirsty all the time, then I found some white patches on the side of my tongue. I don't have any fever, flu, cold..etc. But I do feel dizzy and tired sometimes, weight loss a bit, no more than 5 lb. I am very worried right now. Could that be the symptoms of HIV/Aids or something else? I am planning to see a doctor now, but I am so worried and I can't wait for the result, Please help!!

Dear Hope:

Peace.  Seeing your doctor is the only way to address your concerns fully, and in many cases she or he can diagnose quickly your situation and provide you with treatment for your symptoms.  In the meantime, what you describe does NOT sound much like acute HIV infection.  Count your blessings in having access to medical care, and do what she/he asks you for your treatment.  If you have access to clean water, I would suggest increasing the amount of your fluids in preparation for the appointment.  Please write back and let me know how it goes.
