Question
Hello,

Thanks for being willing to help me out with a question.

I have so many fear about aids- a few moths ago I had a manicure- fake finger nails put on.

I did not see any blood on to be fearful of and I did not bleed my self but I am scared of contacting aids because so many people get their nails done. I know salons are suppose to use standard precations- but what are my risks-  i can not sleep at night because I am way to worried about this.

Thanks

Answer
For you contract HIV there would have to be a way for it to enter your body-if you did not bleed then there was no opening for HIV.

Environmental HIV is extremely rare. The most efficient means of HIV transmission are through unprotected anal, vaginal and oral sex, through sharing needles and from mother to child during childbirth (occasionally).
