Question
Dear Terry, Thanks in advance for your response. What are the chances of getting hiv from a small hangnail that made contact with blood on a towel that had watered down blood on it?

Answer
Dear Sandra:

Peace.  Exposing an open wound to the blood, semen, or vaginal secretions of a person infected with HIV is a risk.  The fluid would need be present in sufficient concentration to infect.  While I see no real risk of HIV transmission in what you describe, there are other viral and bacterial infections that can be more easily transmitted.

I hope that answers your question.  Best to you and yorus,

Terry
