Question
Is avert.org a reliable site for getting information on hiv/aids.

Answer
Dear Abhishek:

Peace.  Thank you for alerting me to www.avert.org - this was a site I had not visited, and your question spurred me to search through it for a number of clues which would help determine reliability.  It is important to look not only within the site, but also to recognized external sources to verify information.

The results of my brief research:
1) Review of the site and HIV transmission information appeared factual and accurate.  Statistics are drawn from reliable sources (World Health Organization, UNAIDS, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) although direct references to the sources was slightly hard to find.
2) Avert is a registered and recognized charitable organization in the United Kingdom, with appropriate organizational and accounting information open to the public.
3) Avert is listed and linked as a reliable source of information at the United Nations AIDS Prevention Workgroup site.

Summary - by all evidence, avert.org seems a reliable site for getting information on HIV/AIDS.

Thank you for your question, and good health to you and yours.
