Question
Hi
and thankyou for taking the time to answer my question. I went to a nail salon outlet and got gail nails last week. When cutting my cuticles they cut my cuticle and caused it to bleed. Is there any chance I got hiv or hepc from this exposure? I am worried sick

Answer
Dear Caroline:

Peace.  Though this is an HIV/AIDS forum I will comment on your Hepatitis C risk in response to your apparent anxiety.  If the salon where you had your nails done uses standard disinfecting measures, you would not be at risk; also a cut cuticle is less dangerous than a puncture wound.  I expect your risk is very low.

I hope this helps.
