Question
QUESTION: My friends took me to a strip bar and paid for 1 hour for me to be with one of the strippers. She let me suck on her nipples and she gave me a hand job and had her saliva spit on her hands while she was giving me the handjob. That is all that happenned, no sex took place. I had too much to drink and  I felt really bad the next morning and I still feel bad and depressed today about that night. Oh well, what are the risks of me getting AIDS or STD's from all that I have mentioned from her? Thank you

ANSWER: Dear Ray:

Peace.  Semen, vaginal secretions, blood, and breast milk are the fluids that transmit HIV in 'social' situations.  Saliva is not on that list.

Other fluids can transmit other infections.  It would be worth your while to go to www.thebody.com for more information, or better yet, find a counseling and testing center to find out if you might have another infection of some sort.

About all I can tell you.

Best to you and yours.

QUESTION: Thank you, I greatly appreciate you prompt response. What if I like suck on her nipples, but not like really suck it to the point where breast milk comes out, but only like kiss it and suck it gently. Is there a risk? Thank you so much. You're great!

Answer
Dear Ray:

For the most part women produce milk (lactate) only when pregnant or experiencing hormonal imbalances.  Unlikely you would be exposed to breast milk in the situation you described.  Even if you were, the studies showing breast milk transmission were done among nursing mothers and infants - about 22% of all the infants breastfed by mothers infected after delivery (meaning mothers did not pass the virus to the infants by birth) became HIV positive - this also means that after a daily diet of breast milk, 78% did NOT become infected.

Again, there are many other infections - Herpes, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, etc. - that can be passed more easily than HIV.  In part because a sex worker has many more partners, the risk in the situation you described is significant.  While treatable, these infections can cause permanent damage if left undiagnosed and unmedicated.  Please be tested for your own safety and that of your current and future loved ones.

I appreciate your thanks and ask you to please become better informed and be a resource for your friends.

Again, peace and all good things to you.

Terry
