Question
Hello sir,
Well , I had protected Vaginal sex 7 months ago but the condom broke while ejaculating , this is the worst part of my story ..

After exposure , I had like 12 HIV tests ( P24 after 6 months and the rest are Antibodies ELISA ) , After 2 , 3 , 4 ,5 ,6 and 7 months .. and they all came back negative ..

are my tests reliable enough to forget about the whole episode and go on with my life ? Am I HIV negative ?

thanks in advance ..

Answer
Dear Worried:

Peace.

Your test results indicate that you are not infected with HIV.

I would not "forget" about the episode but be aware of your risk and the limitations of condoms.  Often such a break occurs because of an oil based lubricant or some other factor.  I encourage you to talk to a counselor at a testing center to better inform yourself on how to keep your risk at a minimum.

My best wishes to you for continued health.

Terry
