Question
I was splashed in the eye after doing an eye irrigation no visble blood was seen but gravel was embedded in the eye.The source patient was negative and so was my baseline. But now I have alow grade fever and little dots that look like blood under the skin.It been 3 weeks post expousure.Do these sound like symptons and was my risk low. Thanks, scares nurse.

Answer
If the patient was negative, then there is no way you could have been infected...unless the patient was only recently infected. I dont think you need to worry about HIV...just see a doctor about your eye- maybe it is an infection...but I dont think it is HIV. Don't worry!
