Question
Hi, I've read through related Q&A from this site, It's short but i'm need more details. My question is How to down physical file to Pc as csv format other than (currently) manually download using client access. Can i program it in CL for automation? any samples?

regards
Jason

Answer
If you can map the AS/400's drive as a network drive, then you can use the CPYTOPCD command to copy a flat file to an I-5 folder without using Client Access.  To put a PF that is defined by DDS in .CSV format, a programmer must write a program to read the data and write it to a flat file, removing existing commas from data fields, inserting commas between fields and moving the signs of negative numbers to the front of the field. This is a fairly complicated process, and is beyond the scope of what can be reasonably taught via e-mail.
