AS400 Mid Range/Call a program to restore libraries

Question
I would like to know how to write a program that will restore libraries from tape(previously saved using GO SAVE 21) to the system i5 V5R4M5 in a system restricted state. All I need to do is just call the program and the restore job starts.

Answer
To restore an entire library (this will replace the entire library on your system with objects as they appeared at the time of the save), use the RSTLIB command.  You will need to key the name of the tape device (typically TAP01, but possibly different on your system) and the name of the library or libraries to be restored.

To restore a single object, use the RSTOBJ command (this will replace a single object - a file or a program, for example).  Again, you will have to specify the name of the tape device and the name of the library.

If you have any doubts about possibly needing the current version of the library or objects you plan to restore, make a new backup of them before restoring the old versions.
