Unfortunately, the subject of creating printer files is more complex than I can fully explain in an e-mail.

Essentially, you design formats using DDS that define what fields to print, where on the line to print them, and whether to space before or after printing the line. Each format is assigned a name. You compile the printer file using the CRTPRTF command, then use it as an output file in your RPG program. Use the WRITE command in your RPG program, followed by a format name, to print a line.
