Question
How can I transfer Hexadecimal, Zoned Decimal, Intiger type of data from AS400 to Windows? As for packed decimal transfer ther is a no. (0.000000953763) to be multiplied in AS400 data field to make it readable). Are there some more such conversions available for Hexadecimal/Zoned/Integer type of fields?

Most 5250 emulation software packages that allows your PC to display an AS/400 sign-on screen also offer a file transfer utility to and from the AS/400.  These will use the DDS definitions of a file to automatically convert the data for you.  In the absence of that,if your network can 'see' the AS/400's disk drive,a programmer could write a program to read an AS/400 file and write the data to a non-DDS-described file in the desired format, then copy that to a folder on the AS/400's disk using the CPYTOPCD command.
