Question
Is there any way to force everything that prints to a certain outq to duplex? I have a lan attached HP2300D and i want everything that it prints to duplex. It will duplex fine when printing from windows but will not duplex from the as400. running v5r1 on a 170

thanks

Answer
Duplexing on the AS/400 is controlled in the spool file.  You can try changing a single spooled file on the output queue to DUPLEX(*YES) (use the WRKOUTQ command, then key a 2 next to the spooled file and page down to the duplex option.)  If that works, then you can change the printer file that printed the report to DUPLEX(*YES) using the CHGPRTF command - that should cause every report from the printer file to duplex.  If the single spooled file doesn't work, then the question becomes more complicated - it may get down to what model of printer is being emulated on the AS/400.
