Expert: Diane Cheryl Date: 5/11/2008 Subject: URGENT STUPIDITY: I had unprotected sex 13 days after taking Misoprostol
Question Dear Diane,
On Tues APril 29th i took the 2nd tablet, misoprostol, as part of a (first time)
medical abortion. Last night (May 10th at 5pm) my boyfriend and i woke up,
actually having penetrative sex. When we realised, he immediately pulled out
(no ejaculation) and we've been panicking ever since. Can i take the morning
after pill today or are there any contra-indications?
Thank you very much for your help
Jacqueline
Answer Hi Jacqueline,
I'm not a medical doctor so I always advise to see your personal physician. I don't ever recommend medical abortion or the morning after pill. The MAP is used too commonly and unnecessarily, a good percentage of time. To read an article about MAP, go to http://www.optionline.org
Let me know if you already took MAP. There is a small chance that you could get pregnant but I don't know what % chance. You can email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and we can talk more. I also want to let you know that there is really no such thing as "protected sex". Any method of birth control, hormonal or not, is not 100% safe from possibility of pregnancy or Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The only sure way is abstinence. Hope to hear from you soon.
