About Pat G
Expertise
I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.

Experience
I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.

Question
I had an abortion two weeks ago and had unprotected sex yesterday.  Bleeding had stopped. but today, it still shows some bleeding.  Can I still get pregnant even if I am bleeding?

Answer
Hi, Holly,

A woman can get pregnant while she is bleeding. An abortion is a major disruption of a woman's hormones. Anything is possible. It is most likely that the sexual activity simply stimulated the bleeding. Keep an eye on things, and if you have more questions, feel free to ask. However, please remember that nobody can answer questions about your body over the internet, so if you are concerned about something, please ask a doctor. Since you had an abortion, it is best to find a new way of dealing with this so you don't have to do it again. Please keep in mind that no contraceptive method is foolproof. Also, please keep in mind that you could still get an infection from the abortion, if your cervix is open enough to permit bleeding. Keep yourself safe!
