Question Hi,
i had my surgical abortion on feb.8th/2008 and had my first period of March 18th/2008. it was all normal. i had NO unprotected sex after abotion. it is now may 2/2008 and i still did not get my period. I did a urine pregnancey test, just in case, but teh result was negative. Is this normal? but i have been also feeling frustration and exhausted about little things (loose my temper easily) past 3 weeks.Can u pls advise on this matter of wat could be the delay in me getting my period?? I do want to go check wtih my family physician but for my pregnancy i consulted a walk-in clinic doctor and he is away on medical leave for a long time now. I feel sort of ackward of how to tell my family physician about thsi whole pregnancy and abortion.

An abortion disrupts a woman's hormones and can really whack them out. So as far as I am concerned, there's no such thing as "normal". You are asking questions about your own body, so you will have to go to a doctor someplace. Nobody can answer such questions over the internet. There are some alternatives.
To find a doctor you can go to, the best recommendation I have is that you should find your local crisis pregnancy agency and ask them to recommend someone. You can find one by going here:
If you want to keep going to your family doctor, you will probably have to mention your pregnancy and abortion at some time, simply because it will affect your health in lots of ways. I don't know him or her, but it is likely you wouldn't be the first woman to come to him for care who has had an abortion, and you won't be the last.
Some of this sounds like it could be emotional repercussions from your abortion. Did you feel really solid with your decision to have one, or were you pressured in some way? Did you know much about the whole thing, the procedure, the development of your baby, and the possible medical repercussions? Some women experience emotional repercussions, but may not realize what they are experiencing. On the other hand, it could just be that your hormones aren't behaving normally. When you do go to a doctor, you might ask him to run some tests on your hormones to see what is going on.
