Question
I had a non surgical abortion done and they told me to wait at least two weeks before having sex and i had sex 9 days later witch is 1 week and 2 days i did use a condome. My question is, is that bad for my body or bad in any way to have sex that soon?

Answer
Liz, you are completely fine, as long as you used protection not to get pregnant.  The condom also protected you from infection,  but after one week, you should have been fine anyway.  There is nothing to worry about.  It is poorly researched how long you need to wait to have sex after an abortion.  After a surgical abortion, the recommendation is to wait 2-6 weeks - however there are no studies that document the need for this. After the abortion pill (medical abortion) or the nonsurgical aspiration procedure, you can usually have sex after 24 hours. Again, the concern is about getting pregnant, so birth control should be used.
I hope this is helpful,
