Abortion/confused????

Question
I took the abortion pill on the 9th may, i was 5 weeks into the pregnancy. on the 13th of may i passed a really big clot and assumed that was it, it was over. i hadn't experienced any cramps sickness or anything like like after taking the pills it was just there when i went to the toilet. i have been on holiday for 4 weeks and returned yesterday. i was bleeding for almost 3 weeks after taking the pill. When i arrived home yesterday i did the pregnancy test as advised and had a positive result so i waited until the evening to repeat the test and also did one this morning just to be sure and they are all positive. i contacted the marie stopes center where i had taken the pills and have an appointment to go for a check up to see what's going on. I wasn't 100% sure about my decision to have an abortion as i have a 16 month old son and live far away from my family, i am married and know my husband really doesn't want to have another baby yet which is why we came to the decision to abort it. But my question really is my husband is Muslim and believes it is wrong to abort after 8 weeks (it would make me 10 weeks) what are the possible complications of continuing with the pregnancy if there is still an embryo there? (i am aware it could be just some tissue that has been left behind that could be causing the positive test) but i want to know the facts so i can make a proper decision about what to do if it turns out to be more than just tissue as i know myself i could not and would not want to go through that again. I am aware that the recommended thing to do is continue treatment but i would still like to know to make my own decision with all the information.

thank you
clare

Answer
Hi Clare,

Thanks for your question. I'm sorry that you are having to go through this situation. I would hae advised you not to take the abortion pill. There are many risks and side effects to your health. I would advise you to go to a doctor, not back to the clinic where you had the abortion. They would want to go ahead and retreat you and make sure of the abortion. I would seek to find a place who could help you with seeing if there is a possibility that the baby is still there.
Please go to http://www.heartbeatinternational.org/worldwide_directory.asp

I would love to talk to you more. Please let me know if anyone can help you on that website. I don't know if http://www.optionline.org can help you out of the U.S. but you might want to try.
Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and put ALLEXPERTS in the subject line.
