Question
Hi, um, I had a medical abortion about 3 months ago, and I have not had a regular cycle yet. I have dark thick blood that only lasts about a day or two in substitution for my normal 5 day period. Im not really sure what is going on, should I be concerned?

Answer
Dear Shazay,
This is completely normal, as long as you are not pregnant.  You might want to take a home pregnancy test to be 100% sure.  Otherwise, this is common with the abortion pill.  Eventually your periods should come back to normal.  There is no need for an evaluation.
I hope this is helpful,
