Question
I had an abortion when I was 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I had a medical abortion. Post the abotion during the Scan they said I had 7mm remains in the uterus which would need to be removed and so they gave me contraceptive pills. I had my periods 1 week after I finished the contraceptive pills. After one month now I had my periods last Thrusday just for some few hours post which I saw no signs of it for the next two days. I had some small clots and stains again on Monday. Now again today I have no periods. I called my GP and she says she will need to examine me. Do you think there is some thing to worry about? Can I conceive lateron.

Thanks for your email. I would advise you to see your doctor. If she is telling you that you need to be examined, yes, something could be wrong. Perhaps the abortion was incomplete. I don't understand why whoever would give you contraceptive pills when the remains were in your uterus. I have not heard of that but I am not a medical doctor. Some women after abortion are not able to conceive but I can't tell you your chances. I don't advise abortion so please don't do this again for your own health's sake.
