Question
‘m pregnant in spite of having emergency contraceptive (I pill) when the normal preventive aid failed. I had it with in 12 hours. Now doctor tells me that it is not safe to continue with the pregnancy as I had consumed I pill (emergency contraceptive). She says it could be bad for the baby even if I want to continue with the pregnancy.  She suggested medical Termination. She said I should wait for six weeks is ideal time for medical termination using pill, to expel out all the contents from the uterus. Is this true? Are there any harmful effects of this? Does it have any effect if I want to conceive after an year?

Answer
Hi Ammu,

How do you know for sure that you are pregnant at this point? I have heard of women having a positive pregnancy test after the abortion but really are not pregnant, it's a false positive from the hormones. So let me know that. Then I would recommend that you go to a different doctor to confirm that you would have to have a medical termination or could you carry the pregnancy. If you email me and tell me your location, I will try to find these resources for you. My email address is DCHERYL51@yahoo.com so please email me right away. I will discuss the harmful effects and the possible effect on future pregnancies. Hope to hear from you soon.
