QUESTION: In the past 2 years I have had 2 abortions. One in Jan.06 & Aug.07...I became pregnant again in May and miscarried on June 28. I have had one regular cycle and had unprotected sex 4 days after my cycle and I have not started back taking birth control since April. I've heard that you can become pregnant rather quickly after a miscarriage and after you first cycle and I seem to be a very fertile person...Could I possibly be pregnant again or is my body not physically ready for it...

ANSWER: Dear Elise,

You could possibly be pregnant after an abortion if you have been sexually active. I have heard stories of this happening. However, I have also heard that you sometimes don't have ovulation until 2 weeks after the miscarriage. Do you have any pregnancy symptoms at this point? So have you skipped a period yet? QUESTION: I JUST HAD A PRETTY NORMAL CYCLE LAST WEEK...AND SINCE THIS EMAIL I STARTED GETTING LIGHT PINK BLEEDING TO REDDISH BROWN BLEEDING ALONG WITH SOME LOWER BACK CRAMPING. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND I KNOW MY BODY WHEN IT COMES TO MY CYCLES. I AM SOMEWHAT CONFUSED...WILL BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DOCTOR NEXT WEEK THOUGH.
