Question
If i had an abortion at 10 weeks, and i did bleed and got my period 6 weeks after.  But after that period I got pregnant which I was trying with my now husband, (I had an abortion do to other reasons)I was wondering could it be the same baby!?  I am worried that the doctors won't notice if I was 16 weeks further along and I am pregnant with the first baby! Is this possible or am I just really worried!!??

Answer
Hello Danielle,
You are asking a good question.
It is really unlikely, but not impossible that the pregnancy you have now is a continuing pregnancy from the last time.  Continuing pregnancy is a very rare complication of abortion but it is VERY unlikely to happen at 10 weeks.  Did you have pregnancy symptoms like nauseau, breast changes, tiredness with the first pregnancy and if so did they go away?  If you had them and they went away, then this is very likely a new pregnancy. Women can get pregnant as soon as ONE WEEK after an abortion.
To be sure, get an ultrasound.  a blood test will not answer the question for sure.
Good luck
