Question
I have a question. I had a medical abortion December 17,2008. I was bleeding until January 6,2009. I went to the doctor on December 31 and they said that the medical abortion worked and I was fine. Once I stoped bleeding I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend January 9-11 and January 15. He ejaculated in me all times... Could I have gotten pregnant again? When would I be able to take a test?
I was going to look it up but have no idea how to calculate my ovulation dates because of the abortion. Can you please help me???

Answer
Hi Courtney,
It is normal to have bleeding after a medical abortion for four to six weeks, sometimes heavy/sometimes light.
It is possible to get pregnant as soon as one week after an abortion.  So having had unprotected sex you may very well be pregnant.  Most pregnancy tests work 10days after conception, so a pregnancy test should give you the information.
