okay hi i recently got a surgical abortion January 21st and i know i was not suppose to have sex for 7 days. but i did have anal sex after i had the abortion. i did get the depo shot after the procedure and a couple hours later had anal with my boy friend. is it possible to get pegnant right after an abortion even having anal sex and being on birth control?

Dear Julianne,
This sounds completely safe.  As long as you started on Depoprovera right after the abortion, you should be safe to have vaginal or anal sex without worry of getting pregnant.  You are completely fine.
