Question Dr. Johnson my question is about birth control after an abortion, if I decide to take the birth control pill will I still get my period every month? Or will it stop while I take the pill, im also not sure if its normal after an abortion to not get my period every month? Im still waiting for my period this month but I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative so im just worried any help would be great.. Thnaks
Answer Hi Lupi,
It's normal to miss your period after an abortion as your body is trying to return to normal. Sometimes birth control can affect when your period comes, so your period may become irregular, there really is no way to tell unless you take it. Good luck!
