About Pat G
Expertise
I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.

Experience
I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.

Question
Dear, how long a woman can have a medical abortion by taking abortion pills? Is it possible during 7th-8th week?

Answer
Hello, sowren,

Normally, they won't even offer a woman a pill abortion that late into pregnancy. There is a high failure rate. I don't know where the woman got the pills, or whether she has had them awhile. The pills are very dangerous and could kill her. Surgical abortion is also dangerous. But if she were to take the pills, there's a good chance she'd end up having a surgical abortion anyway, so she'd be subjected to the risks from both. Abortion by any method is simply bad medicine.

There is help available for the woman, so she doesn't have to take this deadly risk. There are organizations, all over the United States, that offer counseling, medical and financial help, furniture, clothing, and supplies for the baby, and help with adoption. To find one near her, she should go here:

At the very least, a doctor should test her hormones to see if the pregnancy is even viable. It may not be. In that case, she would have a miscarriage anyway. She should go to a doctor she can trust. A doctor who believes in doing an abortion on a healthy woman cannot be trusted. Some abortionists will even perform an abortion on women they know aren't pregnant.

Tell her, please don't take these kinds of chances. She deserves better. Help her stay safe. Let me know how things go.
