About Pat G
Expertise I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.
Experience I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.
Education/Credentials I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.

Abortion - Infection after D&C, abdomen & lower back pain
Expert: Pat G - 10/30/2009
Question Hi I'm a little worry, I had a D&C two weeks ago today I'm not bleeding but in the last 2 days I suddenly started to having cramps & body pain, the pain goes to my lower back too, the pain sometimes comes and goes, sometimes it feels worst If I do much walking, I had no fever but I noticed if I go to bed and my abdomen hurts I get like chills and then I wake up sweating like when you sweet a fever. I have some other minor symptoms like a headache but I think I was also getting a cold. My 1st appointment after the D & C is next week, but I'm worry because they didn't gave me any antibiotics, is it possible that I'm getting an infection. What do you think is happening to me?
Answer Hello, RB,
This does sound like an infection is a possibility. As far as giving you antibiotics is concerned, there are a lot of different kinds of infections, and antibiotics only helps with an infection caused by bacteria. This sounds like you need to get immediate attention. Do not go back to the people who provided the abortion. Find a doctor you can trust, or go to the emergency room. Please get immediate attention, and then let me know how you are doing. I will say a prayer for you.
