Answer
Dear Jamie,
The best methods for termination of pregnancy in the first trimester are the Abortion Pill, and the Aspiration Procedure. You can terminate a pregnancy with the Abortion Pill to up to nine weeks of pregnancy. The Aspiration procedure can be used to end pregnancy up to 12 weeks.

What is the Aspiration procedure?  It's a nonsurgical, gentle method that can be completed in a regular doctor's office.  It only takes about 5 minutes to complete.  There is no scraping, no electric machine, no need for general sedation.  It is noninvasive so you recover immediately, and can resume your normal activities when you leave the office.  Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find a doctor who offers the Manual Aspiration Procedure. The best resource is: http://www.earlyabortion.com

The Abortion Pill is another good choice, especially for termination of very early pregnancy, under 9 weeks.  The Abortion Pill blocks the hormones of pregnancy from working.  You take a second set of pills, misoprostol, 24-72 hours later, which induces a miscarriage.  You can find out more about the Abortion Pill at http:www.earlyabortionoptions.com, and http://earlyoptionpill.com  It is much easier to find a doctor who offers the Abortion Pill.

Both the Aspiration Procedure and the Abortion Pill have advantages over surgical abortion for pregnancy termination.  They can be completed privately (not at an abortion clinic, avoid complications of surgery, and have no risks for future pregnancies.

I hope this is helpful,
