Abortion/Pregnant again?

Question
Hi. My name is Cathy and I'm from the U.S. I had an abortion exactly four weeks ago from today. A week later me and my partner had unprotected sex but he didn't ejaculate in me. However, a week later we had unprotected sex again and this time he did ejaculate in me. The only reason why we continue to have sex this way is because we are trying to have a baby. I just wanted to know what are the chances of me being pregnant again and how long will it take for me to find out being that I probably still pregnancy hormones still lingering around. By the way, i haven't received my period yet.

Answer
It is common and normal to have a delayed period after an abortion, and it is common and normal to have a positive pregnancy test a month after an abortion.  If you are trying to get pregnant, there is no rush to finding out if you are pregnant again.  It will happen on its own time.  You can wait another week to see if you get your period.  If you don't, you can try a pregnancy test.  In one more week, it should be more accurate.
I hope this is helpful,
