About Pat G
Expertise I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.
Experience I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.
Education/Credentials I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.

Question Hi I had an surgical abortion on the 16th of september and got and IUD fitted straight after the surgery. I have still not got my periods and pass out blood clots even now which had stopped for a while but started again. What should I do?I took pregnany tests(urine) but negative everytime.
Another thing, my IUD strings feel a little longer,is that because of the mentrual cycle or something to worry about and get checked?
Answer Hi, Farah,
These are questions you need to ask your doctor. I can't tell you over the internet, and neither can a doctor. You need to be examined and you should have your hormones tested.
The things you have done are very abusive of your body, and you may well experience all sorts of consequences for awhile. That's a very important reason to talk to a doctor. Don't go to the person who provided the abortion or the IUD. Abortion is very dangerous and can cause serious long-term harm or even kill you, and anybody who would do that to you without there being a serious medical problem doesn't have your best interests at heart.
You should seriously consider abstaining from sex if you're not married. There is no point in abusing your body like that. If you are married, you can learn to tell when you are fertile. You have to chart faithfully, and if the IUD contains hormones, or you are taking any other hormones, it won't work anyway, but you can get more information here: http://www.fertilityuk.org/
I hope you are able to get to the bottom of this. Please take care of yourself and don't take any more chances.
