Question
i had an abortion two months ago and since then i sometimes bleed not much actualy it is just a spot i was wondering if the is an implication to the abortion by the way it was medical method with some jelly inserted in my vagina. Should i be worried?

Answer
Hello, dipuo,

You didn't say what kind of jelly was used. You also didn't say how far along you were. That said, if you are having normal periods, I wouldn't be worried, perhaps at most, concerned. However, it won't hurt for you to be checked out by a decent doctor. Don't go back to the person who put the jelly into your body. That person did something unethical, and won't want to admit he caused any harm, so his judgment cannot be trusted.

Abortion ALWAYS causes damage, sooner or later. If you were pregnant with your first child, you should be concerned and vigilant about breast cancer. It greatly increases the chances. I do not recommend mammograms. Thermograms are more accurate, and they don't cause damage. The information I have is that the best preventative for breast cancer is to get adequate levels of Vitamin D3 into your blood. There is information on the internet about this. The site http://www.mercola.com/ is a good source of information (but you have to sign up to read anything).

We don't know what the other risks, long term, exist for chemical methods of abortion. The spotting does indicate that your hormones aren't back to equilibrium. If you're not having periods, there is a slight possibility you are still pregnant, although after two months, you'd probably know it. You might be one of those women who don't experience any morning sickness, but you should still experience tenderness in the breasts, and you should be aware that your uterus is growing. If you are normal weight or under, you can tell by lying on your stomach on the bed. If you had the abortion as soon as you had sex, there is a greater likelihood it didn't work and you wouldn't be aware you are still pregnant. You should be checked to see if there is any tissue left behind that needs to be removed. Your hormone levels should be checked. So for reassurance, if nothing else, have a doctor check you thoroughly.

Let me know what you find out, and good luck. Take care of yourself, and don't run any more medical risks like that.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
