Question
I had a medical abortion 3 weeks ago today. I was told to start taking the contraceptive pill the day after my second visit. I bled heavily for a week and a half. It then stopped. Then when I got to 2 weeks I started spotting and have been now for a week. I just wondered if this was normal?
I realised that I had started spotting when I would usually have my normal period? Was this my period trying to come through? I'm about to start my 7 day break from the pill so I'm exoecting to have a period then. Will my body eer go back to normal?

The bleeding you are describing is completely normal after the abortion pill (medical abortion). It is common and normal for the bleeding to stop and start as you describe. It can alternate between being heavy and spotting and being like a period. There is no way to know what is actually your period. The most important thing is to avoid getting pregnant. It is good that you started on contraception. Continue to take it as prescribed, and ignore the bleeding. Your cycle will go back to normal in the next couple of months.
