Abortion/early sex after abortion

Question
Hi, i had an abortion 5 days ago and decided to have sex last night. I started taking the pill two days after the abortion but stupidly had sex last night. Today i found a brown discharge and i started having cramps prior to having sex which i though was normal. What are the chances of being pregnant again and an hour after sex i tried to wash the sperm out. My question is what are the chances of getting pregnant again and what would cause the brown discharge? Thanks so much

Answer
Hi dear Jess,

Fertility is back about 10 days after the abortion.
The pill is not reliable the first cycle, but its OK you started early.
The chances to become pregnant from sex 5 days after the abortion
is near to zero. BUT the chance to get an infection is nearly 50%. That's why docs tell you not to put ANYTHING in your vagina the first two weeks after the intervention. The connection with outside is still open en germs can be brought in your womb easily.
The brown discharge is old blood and nothing to worry about.

Take care !
