Abortion - heavy bleeding after medical abortion

Expert: Shan Yi Sheng - 3/25/2009

Question
I had a medical abortion two weeks ago, everything went fine, except for I was expecting alot of pain and bleeding and I had NO pain whatsoever and bleeding was about normal I never had any "huge" clots just a few little ones, when I went back to my check up appointment they told me everything was fine they lifted me from all restrictions and told me that I could go back to my normal routine, the next day I soaked about 2 pads in about 2 1/2 hours and was having "HUGE" blood clots all day, it soaked all the way threw my clothes. Is it normal to have really bad blood clots after I was told everything was okay? Why after two weeks am I all of a sudden bleeding bad?

Answer
Hi dear Brittany,
most docs do not know how dangerous the abortion pill can be.
1 in 1500 abortion pill users need a bloodtransfusion.
I am sorry to say from my collegues that they follow blindly what the
importers of this drug tell them. I hate that drug and see a lot of complications and misery after the use of it.
One thing is sure: You are not pregnant anymore.
If the strong bleeding continues go for a check up again and you had
better call that clinic and tell them what happend to you right away; it might open their eyes, but I am affraid it does not.
bye for now,
Dr Shan
