Dear Diane, I made the biggest mistake of my life that I will regret for eternity by having a vacuum aspiration end of Jan 09, at 10 1/2 weeks. I am 31 years old and healthy. I regret the abortion so much and would do anything to turn back time. My fiancé does not know. The abortion was done without anaethesia. I have had two menstral cycles since, the first one lasting 5 days and normal. Before the second one I had 2/3 days brown spotting that turned into red spotting turning into my normal menstrual flow lasting another 7 days. What causes this and would the abortion have affected my fertility? Please help, I am so depressed and don't know why I did what I did.

I can't tell you right now if your fertility will be a problem. Some women have problems after abortion and some don't. The most common problems are emotional, spiritual and psychological. I would like to help you with these. If you do not have healing, your relationship with your fiance could be compromised and damaged.

Hope to hear from you by email soon. I can't tell you about the spotting. This could be from the abortion. See if your next period is normal. Did you have a checkup after your abortion, usually in 2 weeks? Bye for now.
