Hi,

I had a medical abortion injection on April 9, 2009, did the home pills on April 11,2009. On April 19, ,2009 I had sex with my bf, used a condom but I felt that it broke. We debated for a couple of hours if it did, I decided to take the plan B same night because I'm really paranoid after the abortion. I realize that it must be a little irresponsible on my part to have sex right after and to not be on the pill. But it just happened. Next day, I had a clot like bleeding and been spotting ever since, my spotting hasn't really stopped since the abortion. I'm worried that I might be pregnant, what are the chances? When can I take a pregnancy test? Also, when can I start taking birth control pills?

Hello Keisha,

You really need to talk to your doctor about your question and health. It is not advisable for your health to continue bleeding and/or spotting. You could not be pregnant but have this problem from your abortion. Or you could be pregnant, I cannot tell you for sure.

Plan B can be dangerous, please read the article about "morning after pill" on http://www.optionline.org
I would also recommend that website for finding a free pregnancy resource center. You can get a free test there and they can tell you when to do that. Another helpful website would be

As for birth control pills, I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control because of health reasons. I prefer natural methods such as condoms or Natural Family Planning.

Please be careful with your health and consider abstinence for a period of time right now and maybe for an extended period of time. It's your choice.
