Question
hi expert,
i had 2 abortions one in october 2008, and another one in March 2009.
Then i completed my 1st period after abortion in April 21st.
After the 15 days i had intercourse and then got blood spotting only once next day.
Went to doctor for checkup they said its normal no need to worry and if it continues then need to visit them.
We did not had intercourse later that, and after 18th day when my husband wanted to have intercourse then i just got worried about the bleeding.

can you suggest what can i do now, can i go ahead with intercourse or not now?

Answer
Dear Saritha,
It is common and normal to have some bleeding after sex for weeks after an abortion.  When you have sex, it stimulates the uterus to contract, and expel any blood that is in the uterus.  This is normal and healthy and nothing to be afraid of.  If you don't like to see the blood, you may want to wait until after your next period.  It is completely up to you and how comfortable you feel with seeing blood.
I hope this is helpful,
Doctor Joan
