Abortion/Pregnancy after D&C

Question
I had D&C 7 weeks ago when I was 22 weeks pregnant. We found out at the ultrasound that the fetus had heart problem so we terminated the pregnancy.  My husband and I would really want a healthy baby so we decided to try right away.  I was using ovulation kit to detect my ovulation and I had a positive sign at week 5 and we had sex that day and the next day. At week 7, I used home pregnancy test and it was positive.  At this moment (week 7 +3days), I still haven't had my first period after D&C.  I would like to know if I am really pregnant or the test is just showing false result from the last pregnany.

Answer
Dear Amanda -
It's hard to know whether you are having a false positive from the past pregnancy or a new positive pregnancy test.  It could be either.  The only way to know for sure would be to get a blood test or ultrasound.
Good luck! I hope everything works out for you!
