Question
5/8 i had a abortion by pill form. I also started take the pill on the sunday following the abortion to help prevent a future pregnancy. however, on 5/14 I had unprotected sex. what is the chances that I would become pregnant so soon after the abortion? also would the pill have time to take effect?
Dear Maqueshalj,
You can feel confident that you will not get pregnant from what you describe. First, it would be very difficult to get pregnant in the first 10 days after an abortion. Second, as long as you start the birth control pills within one week of ending a pregnancy, they are effective immediately.
You don't need to worry.
