About Pat G
Expertise
I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.

Experience
I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.

Abortion - Am I Overreacting?

Expert: Pat G - 6/29/2009

Question
i had a vacuum abortion on the 17th of the month of june. started pills sunday after, on the 20th. was on them for six days before i had drunken sex with condom. but condom slipped off and was stuck inside me for one whole night on the night of the 26th. i pulled it out on the 27th. probably was not ovulating again yet, right? on the morning of the 28th I took Plan B. However, just around this time the bleeding I had off and on regularly since the abortion actually fully subsided. Considering the timing of ovulation and use of plan B how suspicious should i be because of the stopping of the bleeding?

Answer
Hi, Francoise,

I won't have long to write before my internet connection goes down, so I'll have to keep it short for now.

Oops! Be more careful!

It seems unlikely that you were fertile, but the best thing to do is get a pregnancy test. Wait until three weeks after the date you had sex. If it's negative, test again in about a week. If you need a recommendation for a doctor, let me know. But don't go back to the person who did the abortion. The last thing you need is for that person to decide to collect your money again! Take care of yourself!
